At Trentham in New Zealand, Vinery Stud's 6-time Gr1-winning stallion Testa Rossa (Perugino-Bo Dapper, by Sir Dapper) celebrated an elite race success when 5YO Australian-bred gelding Enzo's Lad (Testa Rossa-Sheerama, by Catbird) landed the biggest prize of his career when causing a huge upset at odds of 73-1 in one of New Zealand's premier sprints, the $250,000 Gr1 Telegraph (1200m) for 3YO+, defeating Kawi & Ferrando. A $15,000 purchase at the 2014 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale, Enzo's Lad improved his record to 5 wins (including the Listed Pegasus Stakes Handicap) and 7 placings from 20 starts for NZ$231,200 in earnings. Co-trainer Matthew Pitman was ecstatic with the win. "There's just no better feeling than this," he told NZ Racing Desk. "He's got a great bunch of owners, all from Wellington, and it was their choice as much as ours to bring him up. This means the world to me."
