At Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, former Darley and now Aquis Farm Gr2-winning stallion Domesday (Red Ransom-In the Past, by Zafonic) celebrated an elite race success when 5YO Australian-bred mare Daysee Doom (Domesday-See a Victory, by Mister C) fought on tenaciously to claim a narrow but well-deserved win in the $600,000 Gr1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) for 3YO+ fillies & mares, defeating Oregon's Day & Silent Sedition. Not only did Daysee Doom boost her value significantly with her maiden top-flight success but also joined the millionaires club in advancing her record to 9 wins (including the Gr2 Vinery Stud Millie Fox Stakes, Gr2 Golden Pendant & Gr3 Dark Jewel Classic) and 5 placings (including the Gr2 ATC Millie Fox Stakes, Gr2 ATC Emancipation Stakes & Gr3 Angst Stakes) from 19 starts for $1,174,575 in earnings. Trainer Ron Quinton, who was celebrating his third Coolmore victory as a trainer following the wins of Ofcourseican in 2012 and Peeping in 2016, said Daysee Doom's win was thoroughly deserved. "She deserves a big win so it's a very pleasing result," he said.
