A $10,000 bargain purchase by Paul Willetts Bloodstock Consultancy at the 2015 Inglis Australian Weanling Sale, the well-bred Leicester's second stakes-win in two weeks improved his record to 4 wins (including the Gr3 Chairman's Stakes) & 2 placings from 9 starts for $535,730 earnings. Closing the race out over the last 200m, Leicester provided Darren Weir with his third consecutive SA Derby trophy following Howard Be Thy Name and Volatile Mix, a feat last achieved by Bart Cummings in 1975, 1976 and 1977.
