With six resident stallions led by Champion First Season Sire Ole Kirk, Gr1 sire All Too Hard, and exciting young sires Exceedance and Hawaii Five Oh, Vinery's record of producing quality racehorses continues in the same vein as it has for over a century. "Vinery Stud has the perfect balance of river flats and rolling hills and is renowned for the quality and toughness of the thoroughbred stock it has produced through the years. Encompassing more than 2300 acres including 3km of frontage to the Pages River, lush, irrigated pastures extend to rich undulating paddocks for the young developing stock beneath an array of softly protected valleys for winter protection." Group 1 winners Farnan, Russian Revolution, Shamus Award, Marabi, Artorius, Aristia, and more recently Sepals and Femminile as well as the likes of Too Darn Lizzie, Exhilarates, Samaready, Growing Empire, Roots, Rubick, and Startantes epitomise the quality of racehorses produced by Vinery. Renowned as a nursery for 2YO winners, Vinery's current juvenile crop includes boom Gr2 winner Lara Antipova (see below) and Listed placed Mystical, while their current 3YO graduates are led by Gr3 winner and Gr1 placed Legacy Bound, Gr3 winner Spicy Lu, Gr3 winner Sixties, and stakes placed Chilsolm and Regal Award. The original Segenhoe Stud, founded by British Member of Parliament Thomas Potter Macqueen in 1824, Vinery has been a successful Thoroughbred property since 1913. Purchased by George Hoffmeister, of Vinery USA, the property was rebranded as Vinery in 1998. Soon after, Dr Thomas Simon purchased the dual hemisphere business, and Peter Orton was installed as the Vinery Australia general manager. Simon added several partners during the early 2000s. "With the property's origins built on hope and determination almost two centuries ago, modern-day Vinery is little different in its philosophy to what its predecessors had dreamed. Despite the passing of time, the Vinery property is still very much the heart and soul of men and women with aspirations to succeed. We call them breeders." Vinery will present a draft of 26 yearlings at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, 34 yearlings at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, and ten at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale. Vinery will also be present at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.
