  • Ferraris Opens Family Account in Hong Kong

    Friday, 17th September 2021

Jockey Luke Ferraris won his first race in Hong Kong on Wednesday with the winner Go Ballistic (Duke of Marmalade-Buffalo Dancer, by Sadler's Wells) trained by his father David, reports scmp.com. The pair almost picked up a double when Surrealism (Exceed and Excel-Gradara, by Montjeu) ran second in race six, and Stoicism (Dandy Man-Hidden Belief, by Holy Roman Emperor) ran third in race seven. "It's very fitting that it was for dad. I'm over the moon to have my first winner in Hong Kong. It's a bit of a feat and to have it for dad is the cherry on top," said Ferraris. "It's a lot more competitive. The opportunities are harder to come by than elsewhere. The racing here is very well run and getting the opportunities is the big thing because if you don't have the horse, you don't have the horse." Go Ballistic is a South African-bred 6YO who last won in South Africa back in 2018.
