Mackinnon Stakes winner Arcadia Queen (Pierro-Arcadia, by Redoute's Choice) was awarded both the West Australian Horse of the Year and the 4YO&up Award at the WA awards night, reports rwwa.com.au. "It's been exciting to watch the tight contest of skill and talent at all levels of racing this season and I'm honoured to present awards to the brightest stars of the racing world," RWWA CEO Ian Edwards said. "The award winners can feel very proud of their achievements and the vital role they play in thoroughbred racing in Western Australia." Arcadia Queen won both the Gr1 Caulfield Stakes and Gr1 LKS Mackinnon Stakes during the spring and ran second in the Gr1 Futurity Stakes in her only autumn start. Her dam, Arcadia, was recognised as a leading broodmare, alongside Truly Special (Jeune-Reigning Belle, by Military Plume), the dam of ill-fated Group 1 winner Truly Great (Dundeel) and group winner Special Alert (Not a Single Doubt).
