  • Gymnastics Resumes on Wednesday

    Wednesday, 25th August 2021

Today's Kensington meeting in Sydney sees the resumption of Godolphin's well-bred 3YO filly Gymnastics (Medaglia d'Oro-Aerobatics, by Exceed And Excel) in the Arrowfield Virtual Parade Handicap (1100m). Second on debut behind her stablemate Larkspur Run (Shamardal), Gymnastics went on to have a further two runs before a spell and, off the back of two barrier trials, looks a solid chance of performing well first-up with Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle. A daughter of the multiple Group 3-winning Exceed And Excel mare Aerobatics, who is herself a three-quarter-sister to Arrowfield Stud's Group 1 winner Alverta (Flying Spur), Gymnastics is the third foal of her dam to race, with the current 2YO named Barani (Street Boss) and the unnamed yearling being by Champion Sprinter Harry Angel (Dark Angel). Wednesday's race of 12 runners looks quite open with the race favourite being the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Omni Man (I Am Invincible x Courgette, by Charge Forward), a half-brother to Gr1 Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign (Manhattan Rain) and Group 2 winner Time To Reign (Time For War) – standing his first season at Kingstar Farm – while River Snitty (Snitzel-Savannah River, by Encosta de Lago), a close relation to multiple Champion Sire Savabeel (Zabeel) was scratched from last week, and was also withdrawn from the opening race of Wednesday's meeting to contest Race 2.
