Zouzarella Aims High After Debut Win

Co-trainer Sam Freedman will aim impressive debut winner Zouzarella (Zoustar-Zazparella, by Al Maher) at the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas, reports racingnews.co.nz. “She’s got to keep improving,” Freedman said. “The fillies she’s going to come up against are going to get better and better but she’s made a really good start. She’s a very promising horse.” Her next start is likely to the be the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes at Moonee Valley on 4 September. Owned by Cambridge Stud’s new owners Brendan and Jo Lindsay, Zouzarella was a $250,000 purchase from the Glastonbury Farms draft at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. She is the third foal of city winner Zazparella (Al Maher-Zecchino, by Fairy King), who is a full sister to group placed winner Almachino, and a half-sister to stakes-placed winner Lets Get Nauti Gal (Harbour Watch).
