First Foal for Former Godolphin Galloper Tassort

While we unfortunately never saw the best of the James Cummings-trained Tassort (Brazen Beau-Essaouira, by Exceed And Excel) on the track, a partnership headed by Newgate Farm and Emirates Park were confident enough in the ability shown in the colt's two starts, to purchase him as a stallion prospect. Fast forward 12 months, and the first crop of the blue-blooded stallion are starting to arrive, with Emirates Park claiming first honours. The well-marked colt is out of the unraced Artie Schiller mare Buroog, a half-sister to Liwa (Mulaazeem) and from the immediate family of stakes winners Rothesay (Fastnet Rock) and Sensei (Dream Ahead), the pedigree also contains Group 1 winners Canny Lad (Bletchingly), Camarena (Danehil), Guelph (Exceed And Excel) and Sepoy (Elusive Quality). Having covered over 130 mares in his first season, Tassort was supported by some of Australia's biggest and best breeders, ensuring the Newgate Farm-based stallion gets the best opportunities to kick off his stallion career in fine style.
