Successful on two occasions during his juvenile campaign, highlighted by winning the Gr3 Black Opal Stakes at Canberra, the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Barbaric (I Am Invincible-Mimi Lebrock, by Show A Heart) resumes this coming Saturday at Rosehill, having not raced since December 16, 2020. With three barrier trials to prove his race readiness, the Segenhoe Stud-consigned colt races for an outstanding group of leading industry participants including Newgate Bloodstock, China Horse Club Racing Pty Ltd, Go Bloodstock Australia, G1G Racing & Breeding and Winstar Farm LLC. Second in his most recent barrier trial behind Godolphin's Ziegfeld (New Approach), who has since finished fourth in the Listed Winter Stakes, Barbaric takes on a further seven runners in the Hyland Race Colours July Sprint (1100m), a race of stakes quality, with Rachel King in the saddle. If the rising 4YO can return a winner and then continue stepping up and prove successful at black type level, the colt will have eventual stud farm appeal at the end of his race career.
