Trainer Tom Dabernig will train Gr1 Australian Cup winner Fifty Stars (Sea the Stars-Swizzle Stick, by Sadler's Wells) from his new Warrnambool stable, reports racing.com. One of eight horses that have transferred from Dabernig's former workplace, Lindsay Park, Fifty Stars joined the David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig partnership in February 2019, winning the 2020 Gr1 Australian Cup for the trio of trainers. After running second to Zaaki (Leroidesanimaux-Kesara, by Sadler's Wells) in the Gr2 AD Hollindale Stakes over 1800m at his most recent start, Fifty Stars has been spelling. His full career record is ten wins from 33 starts and over $2.5 million, with his last win in the 2020 Gr1 Australian Cup. Unusually for an import, he has done all his racing in Australia. The other horses to be transferred to Dabernig include city placed 2YO filly Spinning (Pierro-Dizzy Diva, by Starspangledbanner), city winner 3YO filly Flying Mascot (Tavistock-Lucky Mascot, by Zabeel), and multiple stakes placed 4YO mare Bellx (Rock Hero-Aythreeeighty, by Scenic).
