Queensland Releases Summer Carnival Schedule

The programme for the 2021/22 TAB Queensland Summer Racing Carnival has been released. According to Racing Queensland, the Summer Carnival will commence with the Mooloolaba Cup on November 20 before culminating on January 15 with the lucrative Magic Millions Raceday. Tattersall’s will host the second week of the Summer Carnival before the Brisbane Racing Club stages five consecutive Saturday meetings across Doomben and Eagle Farm, including a re-designed 3YO programme. The Gr3 Grand Prix Stakes will be run a week earlier on December 18 at Eagle Farm and will be complemented by The Eagle Way which will be run at Doomben on December 4. In between, The Gateway will be run at Eagle Farm on December 11, providing a ‘win and you’re in’ for 4YOs into the Stradbroke Handicap. The Gr3 BJ McLachlan Stakes headlines a Boxing Day meeting at Doomben before the same venue hosts the Gr3 Vo Rogue Plate on New Year’s Day, along with the Buffering and the Nudgee. The Gold Coast will host back-to-back meetings including The Wave on January 8 before the Magic Millions. The Wave Raceday will provide the last chance saloon for those chasing a start in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic via the Aquis Gold Pearl and Aquis Gold Nugget. Based on ratings, a number of feature races are now eligible for black-type status, confirming the strength of the Summer Carnival programme which continues to improve year after year.
