  • Nettoyer To Race on After Sale

    Wednesday, 2nd June 2021

Sold to Newgate Bloodstock for $900,000 at last week's Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale, the Wendy Roche-trained dual Group 1 winner Nettoyer (Sebring-Cleanup, by Dehere) is looking to race on with numerous options throughout the remainder of the Brisbane Winter Carnival. Her first target will be this Saturday's $500,000 Gr3 Sapphire Stakes at Eagle Farm before any further race plans are decided, but one thing that is already set in concrete is that she will be visit Newgate Farm's exciting young sire Capitalist (Written Tycoon) in the upcoming breeding season. The lucrative prizemoney on offer for the upcoming Q22 could not be overlooked, and if Nettoyer performs on Saturday as expected, it would be no surprise to see the mare head that way of the $1.2m race on June 22. Newgate Farm's Henry Field stated, "Initially when we purchased her we were going to retire her but we decided to run her in the Sapphire Stakes, given it is a mile weight-for-age race for mares, it is like they've put the race on for her," he said. "She is a beautiful mare and is great order, she has been in great care with Wendy Roche who has an incredibility affinity and love for the horse. We felt that because that race was on the program, it was foolish not to run her."
