  • Ribchester & Belardo 2021 Fees Unchanged

    Wednesday, 5th May 2021

Haunui Farm will once again welcome Champion 2YO and dual Gr1 winner Belardo (Ire) (Lope De Vega) and, 4-time Gr1 winner and two-time Champion Miler Ribchester (Ire) (Iffraaj), back to New Zealand in 2021. Belardo wasted no time in making his presence felt in the Northern Hemisphere stallion ranks with four stakes-winners from his first crop including dual stakes-winners Isabella Giles and Lullaby Moon.  In New Zealand, Avonallo became his sire’s first Southern Hemisphere stakes winner when successful in the Listed Welcome Stakes in November, before being the first NZ-bred home in the Karaka Million, finishing third. Belardo’s other stakes performer in New Zealand is the Stephen Marsh-trained filly Fonsalette, who has placings in the G2 Wakefield Challenge Stakes and Matamata Breeders’ Stakes to her credit thus far. Belardo’s service fee will remain at $10,000 + GST for the 2021 breeding season. Ribchester has created quite the impression with his first crops in both hemispheres and is already off the mark with his first winner, Ruthin, who streaked to a 6-length victory at Keeneland for trainer Wesley Ward recently. A Gr2 winner at two, Ribchester landed the Gr1 Prix Jacques Le Marois as a 3YO, beating the older horses and gained his first Champion Miler title. At four, he cemented his status with a 2.25-victory in the Gr1 Lockinge, clocked the fastest ever mile at Royal Ascot in the Gr1 Queen Anne, and, ran out a commanding winner of the G1 Prix du Moulin de Longchamp. He was retired with a Timeform Rating of 129. Ribchester’s service fee will also remain unchanged, and he will stand for $15,000 + GST.
