  • Billiondollarbaby Chasing Unbeaten Status

    Tuesday, 27th April 2021

Wednesday’s Bowermans Commercial Furniture Handicap (1100m) at Warwick Farm sees an interesting field of 11 runners, with only three having faced the starter race day previously. One of those to have raced is the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Billiondollarbaby (I Am Invincible-Srikandi, by Dubawi), a length debut winner on April 7, where she accounted for the Maher-Eustace trained Port Louis (Maurice), an unlucky fifth last Saturday in the Gr1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) at his very next start. Purchased as a weanling by Andrew Williams Bloodstock for $600,000 before sold as a yearling for $1 million, being purchased by Williams again for another client, the filly is out of the Gr1 Stradbroke Handicap and Gr1 Tattersall’s Tiara winner Srikandi, a highly talented winner of nine and over $2.3 million in earnings who was trained by the Ciaron Maher stable during her racetrack career. Currently the race favourite, the Hugh Bowman-ridden filly will jump from barrier seven, on the outside of another of the leading chances, the Chris Waller-trained Bella Rouge (I Am Invincible-Choose, by Starcraft), an impressive recent barrier trial winner, while Your Too Good (Your Song-Way Too Good) for Mark Newnham and Hoover Lucy (No Nay Never-Chelsea Hotel, by Dylan Thomas) for Waller are also a pair to keep an eye on. They finished second and third on debut recently behind the promising De An Andretti (I Am Invincible), the full-sister to Group 1 performer Libertini.
