In-form Vulpine Contests Birthday Card

Following three wins and a second from her last four starts highlighted by a tough victory in the Gr3 Wenona Girl last start, the Brad Widdup Racing-trained Vulpine (Snitzel-Elusive Leone, by Elusive Quality) will be having her tenth run this time in come Saturday, with the 4YO mare lining up in the Gr3 Birthday Card Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens. Surprisingly, from her 18-career starts to date, the mare has only had one outing at Rosehill, finishing second two starts back behind Godolphin's Andermatt (Snitzel), who went to finish third in the Listed Fireball Stakes at his next start. The first group winner for the stable, Vulpine was secured from the Magic Millions draft of Willow Park Stud, where the daughter of Arrowfield Stud's Champion Sire Snitzel (Redoute's Choice) is out of a winning half-sister to Widden Stud's Gr1-winning and Gr1-producing sire Star Witness (Starcraft) and also to the Rosemont Stud based Nostradamus (Medaglia d'Oro).
