  • Magic Partnership for Marquand & Neasham

    Friday, 12th March 2021

Not seen on race day since her outstanding fourth placed effort in the $2m Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January, the Annabel Neasham-trained Queen Of Wizardry (Not A Single Doubt-Miss Hufflepuff, by Encosta de Lago) will have the services of Tom Marquand on Saturday as the filly tries to secure her last minute place in the Gr1 Golden Slipper (1200m) the following week. A winner on debut at Eagle Farm in January before her Magic Millions effort, the $400,000 Tyreel Stud yearling sale purchase by Aquis Farm should get a good run from the inside barrier in the nine-horse field. The question still remains on the form out of the Magic Millions 2YO Classic with none of those that have since raced being able to find the winner's stall, although the third placed She's All Class (I Am Invincible) and tenth placed Swift Witness (Star Witness) both finished narrow seconds at Group 2 level at their respective next starts. The last horse to win the Magic Night and then go on to win the Slipper at their next start was the Godolphin-trained Kiamichi (Sidestep) two years back, with the blue army relying on just one runner on Saturday, the Gr2 winner Arcaded (Street Boss-Gloriette, by Lonhro) who disappointed in the Gr1 Blue Diamond last start when the betting suggested she should have performed better.
