  • Personal Class Could Prove Enough

    Friday, 12th February 2021

Last seen during the Spring when successful in the G1 VRC Oaks (2500m) at Flemington, the Coolmore and partners-raced 3YO filly Personal (Fastnet Rock) resumes this Saturday in the Gr3 Vanity Stakes (1400m) in a race appearing on paper to lack class outside of the top weight who will shoulder an extra 2.5kg than the remainder of the field. Set to jump from barrier one for Dabernig and Hayes, the Cressfield-consigned Inglis Easter yearling sale graduate is likely to get a very cosy run, and even with the weight, her class should be enough to see her capable of putting herself right in the finish. A winner of two of her last three starts, the Leon and Troy Corstens trained Zou Dancer (Zoustar) comes into the race in solid form and although she only won at Dunkeld three starts back, the daughter of Zoustar has continued to improve and should produce a very solid effort for premiership-leading jockey Jamie Kah. On Thursday evening Unibet had Personal at $4.80 behind Zou Dancer ($3.60) and Island Joy ($3.80) who won by an authoritative 4.5-lengths over the Flemington mile in her last start.
