  • Snowden Confident Legacy's Form Will Return

    Wednesday, 10th February 2021

With dual Group 1-winning colt King's Legacy (Redoute's Choice-Breakfast in Bed, by Hussonet) set to trial at Rosehill on Thursday, trainer Peter Snowden told racingnsw.com.au he expects the 3YO colt will return to his 2YO form. "He's going very well, I'll be gobsmacked if he doesn't get back to his old form on what we've seen," Snowden said of the valuable future stallion. "He seems very much switched on. Colts can do that, I've seen it before." Snowden was the foreman for trainer John Hawkes when Octagonal raced in the mid-90s. "I remember Octagonal had a flat prep in the spring and when he came back in the autumn he went straight back to winning races,'' Snowden said. "I don't say he's Octagonal but colts can do that. He (King's Legacy) went down to Melbourne in good form, his two runs prior to the Guineas were perfect runs, but he just went terrible." King's Legacy ran third in the Gr1 Golden Rose prior to heading south where he ran ninth in the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas and twelfth of 16 in the Gr1 Cantala Stakes. King's Legacy will likely resume in the Gr2 Hobartville Stakes over 1400m on February 20, with his main aim being the Gr1 Randwick Guineas over a mile two weeks later.
