  • Lightning Fast Pippie Adds to Sire's Quest

    Wednesday, 10th February 2021

While young stallion Capitalist (Written Tycoon) continues to set the sales ring alight wherever his progeny are sold, but particularly recently at the Inglis Classic Sale where his sons set consecutive $600,000 and $625,000 records in consecutive days, his own sire is continuing to make headway at the top of the Australian General Stallion table. Forced to play catch up with a $3 million deficit after pensioned Arrowfield Stud barn mate Not A Single Doubt sired The Everest winner Classique Legend, Written Tycoon has slowly been bridging the, ironically, Everest-like gap. While his progeny continue to experience hefty demand in sales arenas, last weekend’s racing saw Written Tycoon close to within $1.7 million of hitting the Australian championship lead. His task may be aided next Saturday when dual Group 1-winning daughter Pippie (see below) fronts up in a competitive renewal of the Black Caviar Lightning. With a stellar cast of big autumn firepower that also includes brilliant 2YO Enthaar, Champion 3YO-elect Ole Kirk, Odeum and Dirty Work as well as last Sunday’s Gr3 Hobart Cup winner Double You Tee, Written Beauty, Finance Tycoon and Kissonallfourcheeks, the world is Written Tycoon’s oyster. Meanwhile, Written Tycoon and I Am Invincible are locked in a titanic struggle at the top of the Black Type Premiership Sires leaderboard, having put a gulf between themselves and the chasing division.
