  • Cranbourne-Trained Pair Add to Diamond Puzzle

    Thursday, 4th February 2021

Trained at Cranbourne by Cindy Alderson, Jigsaw (Manhattan Rain-Demandz, by Lonhro) is rated by Sportsbet as the $3.20 favourite for Saturday's Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude, reports racing.com. The 2YO colt won impressively on debut at Geelong on 7 January, but it is an unraced colt who is set to debut in the Prelude that has everyone talking. Trained by Wendy Kelly at Cranbourne, Hitotsu (Maurice-Love is Fickle, by Redoute's Choice) won a trial at Cranbourne two weeks ago. "He's done nothing wrong to say he shouldn't be going here," Kelly said. "So you roll the dice when they are 2YOs and they are ready. You only get one opportunity at that age and we're happy with him. You never know until they do it. He's paid up for the Diamond so far, so if he runs well, he'll go that way, but if not, it's straight to the paddock." Last year's Gr1 Blue Diamond winner Tagaloa (Lord Kanaloa-Vasilissa, by Heart's Cry) was trained at Cranbourne by Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young.
