Outstanding 2YO record: runner-up to EARTHQUAKE in the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes and runner-up to Gr2 winner RUBRICK in the Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude. This race gave EXCEED AND EXCEL a Gr1 quinella, and EARTHQUAKE went on to be the Golden Slipper favourite, going down to MOSSFUN on a heavy track. The juvenile form around EARTHQUAKE and JABALI is strong, and thus is a good guide to his ability in that realm.

13 of his 17 starts were at black type level, and his trainer Mick Price enthused, “He was an explosive 2YO who took his speed and stamina out to a mile to win a Guineas as a 3YO."

JABALI is by Champion Australian Sire and tremendous speed influence EXCEED AND EXCEL (182 stakes winners and more than $149.5 million in progeny earnings) whose sire-sons include HELMET, REWARD FOR EFFORT and EXCELEBRATION. He is from a stakes placed daughter of multiple Gr2 winner LOVE OF MARY and closely related to Hong Kong’s Champion Sprinter SACRED KINGDOM.
