  • Robodira Improvement Likely Second Up

    Friday, 17th September 2021

A nose margin was all the stood between victory for the John O’Shea-trained Robodira (Husson-Don’t Blink, by Redoute’s Choice), and the narrow second she finished last time out in the Gr2 Furious Stakes at Randwick. Back to the scene of the crime, so to speak, this Saturday, the talented 3YO looks a live contender in Saturday’s Gr2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m). Like many in the field, Robodira will be tackling the distance for the first time but if she can perform as she did last time out, there is no reason she can’t break through for her first stakes victory, having previously recorded two second placed efforts, and a fourth, all at black type level. Gr2 Sweet Embrace Stakes winner Four Moves Ahead (Snitzel-Doulmera, by Mr. Greeley) hasn’t managed to win since February, but the John Sargent-trained filly is always thereabouts, and last time out in the Furious Stakes finished fifth, just under a length and a half from the winner. Meanwhile, the Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexious-trained Mallory (Not A Single Doubt-Panorama Ridge, by Empire Maker) charged late in the Furious Stakes to finish third, and should relish the step up in trip on Saturday for owners Arrowfield Stud and partners.
