James Cummings, Godolphin Australia's head trainer, knows that in both Anamoe (Street Boss) and Ingratiating (Frosted) he potentially holds the keys to a number of the puzzles to be unlocked through the spring. The duo have taken different paths; Anamoe returns in the Gr2 Run To The Rose (1200m) south of Sydney and Ingratiating is second-up in the Listed Poseiden Stakes (1100m) at Flemington. First and third, respectively, in last season's Black Type 2YO Premiership, they both appear hard to beat. At $1.95, Ingratiating is probably entitled to be shorter. Ahead of a potential Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes target, Cummings revealed, "[He has] every reason to be running a huge race here and we are very pleased with him. We were impressed with the return of our colt first-up. [He is] the best-credentialled horse here with his placing in the (Golden) Slipper." Cummings forecast, "I can't him imagine him doing anything but running really well and he's going to enjoy being back up the straight where he's got such a good record so far." Meanwhile, Anamoe will be under intense focus after a comfortable trial placing where he looked as ready as a jack-in-the-box for his seasonal return. "We are really pleased to have him back on track, despite having a setback so close to his resumption," acknowledged Cummings, who conceded, "He's got it all to do. Look at the quality of the horse that is here [in the Run To The Rose]. There are most of the two-year-old Group 1 winners… The plan will be laid down as we go."
