Bobbie Lewis Resumption for Zoutori

A winner of the Gr1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington last campaign, the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra trained Zoutori (Zoustar-Atotori, by Haradasun) resumes this Saturday in the $300,000 Gr2 Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m). As one of two individual Group 1 runners set to contest the race, the other being Gr1 Australian Guineas winner Lunar Fox (Foxwedge-Grant's Moon, by Malibu Moon), the quality of the race is pretty high, with other leading contenders including multiple stakes winning Magic Millions 2YO Classic heroine Away Game (Snitzel-Elusive Wonder, by Elusive Quality), The Astrologist (Zoustar-Aquada, by Flying Spur) as well as Tony Gollan's race favourite Jonker (Spirit Of Boom-Hearts And Arrows, by Kempinsky). With a strong affiliation to the Flemington racetrack, finishing in the top four in 10 of his 12 starts at the course, Zoutouri also earned the highest number of Black Type Premiership points at Flemington during 2020-21. Foaled and raised at Amarina Farm, before his sale at the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale to his trainers for $160,000, Zoutor'si success on the track has rewarded connections with in excess of $1.8m in prizemoney, and has further highlighted other members of the family. Kiku (Zoustar), a full-sister to the 6YO, sold as a yearling for $300,000 to Star Thoroughbreds, and now with a Group 3 victory on her résumé, she will be a valuable broodmare commodity when she is sold post her racing career.
