  • 2YO Trial Winners for Pariah & The Mission

    Wednesday, 8th September 2021

A day after the first crop juveniles by Gr1 sprinter Spieth (Thorn Park) highlighted their ability at the Gold Coast trials, fellow Aquis stallion The Mission (Choisir-My Amelia, by Redoute’s Choice) grabbed the spotlight at the Deagon trials on Tuesday, producing Mishani Sunshine (The Mission-One Gold Day, by Pressday) to score by a length over 650m, with fellow juveniles Mishani Warfare (The Mission-Mishani Harmony, by Denman) and The Missionary (The Mission-Red Rhinda, by General Nediym) taking second and fourth respectively in the same heat. The prior trial on the day saw Arrowfield Stud’s Pariah (Redoute’s Choice) record his first barrier trial winner when the Natalie McCall-trained Berava (Pariah-Shamrock Slipper, by Jet Spur) skipped clear by a length and a half with The Mission 2YOs Mishani Mental (ex Mishani Lotus, by Octagonal) and Mishani Embrace (ex Fallen For You, by Show A Heart) finishing in second and third. Purchased from the draft of Willow Park Stud for $80,000 at Magic Millions yearling sale, Berava is from the family of Gr1 winner and Gr1 producing sire Wanted (Fastnet Rock) as well as the Gr2-winning, Gr1-placed Shrapnel (Charge Forward). With the first juvenile races for the 2021/22 season seemingly not that far away, any success will clearly give the various stallion farms another boost as they look to secure as many mares as possible for their current stallion books.
