  • Spendthrift Australia Showcases Sire Talent

    Tuesday, 7th September 2021

At its picturesquely appointed farm near Kerrie, north-west of Melbourne, Spendthrift Australia has entered the 2021 breeding season armed with stallion talent. Featuring a half-dozen stallions (all by Champion Sires) that range in fee from $5,500 to $22,000, there is something for every breeder as can be seen from Spendthrift’s latest Virtual Stallion Parade below. Augmenting last season’s new shuttle guns Omaha Beach (War Front – $22,000) and Vino Rosso (Curlin – $13,750) is dashing Gr2 Schillaci Stakes winner and Sydney 1100m track record-holder Dirty Work (Written Tycoon – $19,800) who makes his own debut in 2021. That trio is underpinned by stunning-looking Group-winning sprinter Overshare (I Am Invincible – $11,000) whose first crop is eagerly awaited at the track, as are the first 2YOs by choicely-bred Group 1-performed Group 2 winner Gold Standard (Sebring – $5,500). Also standing at a tempting fee – his yearlings have sold to $80,000 – is emerging young Group 1 runner-up Swear (Redoute’s Choice – $5,500), a debut 2YO winner out of Champion 2YO. Spendthrift’s popular Breed Secure and Share The Upside incentives add further allure for breeders in 2021.
