  • Cap d'Antibes Next for Invincible Caviar

    Tuesday, 24th August 2021

Her half-sisters Oscietra (Exceed and Excel) and Ready For Caviar (More Than Ready) are already very valuable fillies, being daughters of the undefeated champion Black Caviar (Bel Esprit), however 3YO filly Invincible Caviar (I Am Invincible) will have the chance next month to elevate herself even higher up the value chain. Following Sunday’s relatively smooth maiden win at Sale over 1113m – see below – where her racing style was somewhat reminiscent of her mum’s deceptive cruising gait, the odds-on favourite will soon find herself in stakes company. According to racing.com, trainer Peter Moody, who managed Black Caviar to a perfect 25 out of 25 including Group 1s in both hemispheres, revealed that Invincible Caviar will head to Flemington for the straight 1100m Listed Cap d’Antibes Stakes on 11 September, giving her a decent break between starts. "That will give us a chance to tighten the screws over the next three weeks," Moody said, noting, "It's always nice to win and with a filly like her; it's important to get a win on the pedigree. It was just pleasing to see her get the job done softly like that.” Moody also trains close relation Gimme Par (Not A Single Doubt), this month’s winner of the Gr3 Quezette Stakes (1100m) for 3YO fillies at Caulfield. She is a half-sister to Vinery Stud’s dual Group 1-winning 2021 freshman sire Ole Kirk (Written Tycoon), with the duo out of Naturale, a full-sister to Black Caviar whose Vinery-based Champion 3YO half-brother All Too Hard (Casino Prince) has started the new season in strong fashion.
