  • Dubawi Filly Wows Arqana Sale

    Tuesday, 17th August 2021

A Dubawi filly consigned by Haras d'Etreham stunned the Arqana August Yearling Sale when she sold to Charlie Gordon-Watson for €2.4 million, reports bloodhorse.com. Lot 108, the filly is a half-sister to Gr2 winner Babylone (Invincible Spirit) and is the third foal of unplaced mare Typique (Galileo). "She's from the best Niarchos family, it has Gr1 2YO winners, and she's by Dubawi," said Gordon-Watson. "Her dam's first two foals were very good and Andre Fabre loved her. She's beautiful, she's the best Dubawi filly I've ever seen." The second foal from Typique, Assyrian Queen, was second on debut as a 2YO this month. Typique is a daughter of Champion 2YO Filly in France Denebola (Storm Cat), who is out of dual Group 1 winner Coupe de Genie (Mr Prospector), a sister to Machiavellian. Denebola is the dam of stakes-placed winner Ratiocination (Excelebration) and the granddam of Gr1 winner Senga (Blame) and several other group winners. One other yearling made more than €1 million; Lot 152 (Siyouni-Cercle de la Vie, by Galileo) made €1.5 million, and his dam is a full-sister to Highland Reel (Galileo-Hveger, by Danehill).
