  • Satellite Stable Hopes for Button In Mackay

    Tuesday, 10th August 2021

Today's meeting in Mackay is a good chance for Caloundra trainer Tom Button to achieve his first winner from his Townsville satellite stable with Monsieur Macron (Swiss Ace-Best French, by Air de France), reports racingqueensland.com.au. Formerly trained by Mick Bannon, Monsieur Macron will have his first start for Button in the Sky Racing Plate over 1300m. "He's got the right form and he should be very hard to beat and hopefully he'll be our first winner out of the Townsville stable," Button said. "I've only had him about 10 days and if he can win this, he'll probably head north for the Cairns carnival." Prior to switching to Button's stable, Monsieur Macron has recorded six wins from 34 starts. Button will also line up Lockdown Lady (Sidereus-Zerotami, by Tsuimai) in the QTIS 3YO Maiden. "She has to be the omen bet of the day," Button said. "Her first-up run when she finished third was terrific and she's taken a lot of improvement from the run." Lockdown Lady has placed twice from seven starts, all as a 2YO. Button opened up the Townsville stable to take advantage of the QTIS scheme and the stable is run by Brad Herne. "Brad is managing about twelve horses I've got up here. Brad was working in Tamworth when he rang me out of the blue to say he was moving to Townsville and was interested in my plans to open up a Townsville stable."
