  • Flower Moon Debuts for Maher-Eustace Stable

    Wednesday, 4th August 2021

Arrowfield Stud's Shalaa (Invincible Spirit) enjoyed an exciting 2020/21 season with his first crop runners headed by Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Shaquero (Shalaa-Fimatino, by Not A Single Doubt), and on Wednesday, trainers Ciaron Maher and David Eustace will debut 3YO filly Flower Moon (Shalaa-Miss Alabama, by All American) in the Astern @ Darley Plate over 1000m on the Kensington track. Purchased for $300,000 from the draft of Arrowfield Stud, the filly has had three barrier trials including a last start win over 800m at Warwick Farm. With Rachel King in the saddle, the filly will jump from barrier 5, one gate to the outside of Bjorn Baker's current race favourite Sir Crackle (Choisir-Crystal River, by Bernardini). Out of the winning All American mare Miss Alabama, a half-sister to stakes winner Road Trippin' (Charge Forward) and Crack A Roadie (Charge Forward) from the family of Group 1 winners Monterroso (Dubawi), Silent Sedition (War Chant), Porto Rocca (Barathea) and Bluebird The Word (Bluebird), Flower Moon has a year-younger full brother that was knocked down to Shane Nichols Racing for $75,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale.
