  • The Egyptian Aims To Kick Start Season

    Tuesday, 3rd August 2021

Trainer Clinton Taylor is excited about his first runner of the new season, as The Egyptian (The Factor-Lekhani, by Imperial Ballet) has won three of his six starts leading into today's race at Rockhampton, reports racingqueensland.com.au. The 5YO gelding moved to Taylor's stable eight starts ago and has three wins and five seconds in that time. "I think he's a terrific hope of winning again," Taylor said. "I've got 20 in work and another 19 unnamed two-year-olds getting ready. I ride most of my horses' track work and I think The Egyptian is a terrific bread and butter horse. He keeps raising the bar every start but he never wins by far and just does enough to win every time." All up, The Egyptian has recorded six wins and nine placings from 18 starts. As to today's danger horse, Taylor rates Shane Sigvart-trained Chezblack (Foxwedge-Glowlamp, by Encosta de Lago). "The Egyptian will probably start pretty short odds and Chezblack looks the biggest danger," he said. "Chezblack will get back but he'll be charging home late."
