Not Bluffing About Colt's Listed Chances

With the effects of COVID seeing the colt not go through the traditional yearling sales, the Mill Park Stud-bred Not Bluffing (Astern-Victory Cry, by General Nediym) is looking to add further black type to an already impressive family when tackling Saturday's Listed Oaklands Stakes (1400m) at just his second start. Fifth on debut behind the highly promising Taunting (Brazen Beau), the Philip Stokes-trained Not Bluffing who is owned by his breeders and partners, raced as though the step up to 1400m should really suit, showing a distinct difference to his half relations Run Fox Run (Foxwedge), a Group 1 winner over 1000m and Guard Of Honour (Northern Meteor), a Listed winner over 1100m. From the first crop of Darley's Gr1 Golden Rose winner Astern (Medaglia d'Oro), who has been represented by two stakes winners so far led by the Mill Park Stud bred and sold Searadess, if successful, Not Bluffing will become the tenth individual southern hemisphere winner for his sire.
