  • Yankee Rose Foal Fetches Mammoth $4.5 million

    Wednesday, 14th July 2021

In a staggering result at the 2021 JRHA July Sale, a colt foal out of former Australian dual Group 1 winner Yankee Rose (All American-Condesaar, by Xaar) has sold for almost $4.5 million. Consigned by the Yoshida's Northern Farm, the colt was Lot 398, and is by Japan's Horse of the Year Lord Kanaloa (King Kamehameha), sensational sire of local Blue Diamond hero Lord Tagaloa (on debut at Yulong), Japanese Horse of the Year Almond Eye and leading Japanese Group 1 horses Saturnalia, Danon Smash and Stelvio. As a juvenile, Yankee Rose finished runner-up in the Gr1 Golden Slipper before landing the Gr1 Sires Produce Stakes (1400m) and training on as a 3YO to win the Gr1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m). She is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Miravalle (Redoute's Choice) and also Great Dansaar (Choisir), dam of prodigiously talented Queensland mare Isotope (Deep Field). Tuesday's outcome was a metaphorical million miles from the $10,000 Darby Racing paid for Yankee Rose as a yearling when she was offered by Widden Stud at the 2015 Inglis Classic Sale.
