According to racingnsw.com.au, Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Racing and Wagering, James Ross, said the Longines Golden Slipper remained amongst Australia’s greatest races and the one that shapes racing and breeding like no other. “It is pleasing to see such a strong number of nominations and, in particular, the growth again from last year’s total which reflects the ever-growing popularity of the Longines Golden Slipper," Ross said. “The significance of this race on bloodstock value is unparalleled – for example this year the top 20 yearlings sold at public auction are all in the nominations, with a collective value of $28.3 million. “We thank the many thousands of owners for their support and wish them the best of luck on the journey towards the race they most dream of winning when they first buy a horse."
