    Leading United States thoroughbred publication Thoroughbred Daily News provided a de-facto imprimatur for black-type sires championships when publishing an article last week on the world’s best stallions centred around their rankings related to their respective progeny’s black-type race statistics. The article’s introduction was: “Everyone recognizes the inherent problems with ranking sire lists by earnings, particularly in the days of the giant-purse events that can put one sire on top for the year. But when looking at quality through the lens of black type, the giants of the game seem to always find their way to the top.” Reflecting its slogan, Performance.
