  • Cult Grey Fabergino has Career Ended

    Friday, 25th June 2021

The connections of giant-striding Perth mare Fabergino (Maschino-Miss Razyana, by Danzero), who showed a penchant for straight-track raids of Flemington’s straight track sprints, have decided to retire her. According to thewest.com.au, the decision to terminate her racing career has not coincided with a decision to realise what would be a small fortune for the daughter of Maschino (Encosta de Lago-Tahni Girl, by Redoute’s Choice). Contrarily not best-suited to tight turning tracks, like an oil tanker in a small bay, Fabergino completes her career with 12 wins from 20 starts for earnings of $833,000, 19 of those of which had her in the care of boutique WA trainer Tiarnna Robertson. Her final start was in Sydney’s Gr1 The Galaxy for trainer Chris Waller where she unfortunately pulled up lame. Her breeder and part-owner Jim Anderson revealed that the ownership group would like to race her progeny, and will soon decide on an appropriate stallion for her first mating. The family sems to be kicking on, with full-brother Nowhiteflag winning for a mostly similar ownership group in May, and major owner Bob Peters buying a full-sister at the 2020 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale for what now seems like a bargain $50,000.
