  • Mossfun's Relative to Debut on Wednesday

    Wednesday, 16th June 2021

Fresh from the news that Gr1 Golden Slipper winner Mossfun (Mossman-Eye For Fun, by Snitzel) produced her first winner as a broodmare when the Kevin Ryan-trained Sadmah (Frankel-Mossfun, by Mossman) won at Haydock, UK, last week for owner/breeders Emirates Park, close relative Rhythmboat (Exceed And Excel-Harbour Fun, by Harbour Watch) has accepted to race this coming Wednesday on the Kensington track for trainer Chris Waller. Purchased from the draft of Aquis Farm, on behalf of breeders Emirates Park, $500,000 was needed by Mulcaster Bloodstock and Waller to secure the son of Darley's Champion Sire. With five trials under his belt since September last year, the gelding who is raced by a number of leading stable clients including Magic Bloodstock, Grant Bloodstock and Werrett Bloodstock, Rhythmboat will be ridden by James McDonald and will jump away from barrier 3. Race favourite is the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Construct (I Am Invincible-Martindale Hall, by Lonhro), a veteran of four starts to date with his best performance coming on debut when he finished second behind Rhythmboat's stablemate Shaquero (Shalaa) in the Gr3 Breeders' Plate, beaten 1.25-lengths.
