  • Dissident on Song for Riverdene Stud

    Tuesday, 8th June 2021

Since the announcement that 5-time Group 1-winning sire Dissident (Sebring-Diana’s Secret, by Anabaa) would move from Newgate Farm to Riverdene Stud near Wagga Wagga in 2021, the champion galloper has continued to churn out winners with last weekend being no exception. In addition to siring the $75,000 Highway Handicap winner at Rosehill Gardens, Dissident was also responsible for the quinella in Flemington’s $135,000 VRC Member Maureen Salter Hcp (2000m) for 3YOs. Showcasing his extreme versatility as a stallion, he also sired a 2YO quinella at Muswellbrook over 900m. So far in the 2020-21 season, Dissident is the sire of 67 individual winners and over $3.5 million in earnings. The Australian Horse of the Year is standing at an extremely competitive $6,600 (inc GST) for the 2021 stud season which is superb value for a young stallion who already boasts seven individual stakes-performers and good crops of future 2YOs, yearlings and weanlings to come.
