  • Ultra Makes Promising Debut for Godolphin

    Monday, 7th June 2021

Godolphin Australian don't go to the well all that often to purchase yearlings at auctions, however when they do it’s invariably because they’ve done their homework and loaded the bases to ensure a commercial return. One of their latest investments made a relatively low-key debut at Newcastle north of Sydney on Saturday, with the juvenile filly coming away with a satisfactory report card. Named Ultra, the $5 chance missed the kick in the 900m scamper before burrowing up along the fence and facing a traffic jam. Wanting to hang out, Ultra found a gap and just missed in a diving head-bobbing finish. The late-season 2YO debutante is already a fabulously valuable future broodmare. By Not A Single Doubt out of the Hussonet mare Extremely, she is a full-sister to dual Group 1 winner Extreme Choice and stakes-placed Raise No Doubt. Already the sire of this season’s Gr1 Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside and Eagle Farm’s Gr2 Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Tiger of Malay, Extreme Choice won the Gr1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield and Gr1 Moir Stakes at Moonee Valley. Their dam Extremely, meanwhile, foaled a colt (2019) and a filly (2020) by I Am Invincible.
