  • Hipstar Ready for Boom Classic

    Friday, 14th May 2021

Trainer Kelly Schweida is excited about the chances of Miss Hipstar (Star Turn-Single Style, by Not a Single Doubt) in Saturday’s Gr2 Spirit of Boom Classic over 1200m at Doomben, saying the 2YO filly continues to tick all the boxes, reports racingqueensland.com.au. “She’s going good and I haven’t had to do a lot with her after she won the Dalrello,” Schweida said. “But I’m very disappointed with her draw, if you get caught three deep around Doomben you’re no chance. I want to see her race well but I wouldn’t like her to have a gut buster ahead of the Sires’ Produce. She’ll run in the Sires’ then we’ll re-assess her to see if she goes to the J.J. Atkins.” Miss Hipstar has won three of her five starts including a last start victory in the Listed Dalrello Stakes over 1000m. If she runs well on Saturday, her next target will be the Gr2 Sires’ Produce on May 29, followed by the Gr1 JJ Atkins on June 12. Miss Hipstar was a $150,000 purchase out of the Vinery Stud draft at the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and she already has earnings of $171,950.
