  • Fourth First Crop Winner for Divine Prophet

    Wednesday, 12th May 2021

Trained by Colt Prosser, 2YO filly Little Prophet (Divine Prophet-Little 'N' Cute, by Lujan) became the fourth first crop winner for her Gr1 Caulfield Guineas-winning, Aquis Canungra-based sire Divine Prophet (Choisir-Prophet Jewel, by Encosta de Lago) when breaking her maiden in the Murwillumbah Services Club 2YO Handicap (1100m) on Tuesday. Having her third start, improving each time, the Luke Rolls-ridden filly was last out of the barriers after missing the start before settling at the rear of the field. Jumping away as the race favourite, the $20,000 Inglis Classic yearling sale purchase started to make ground at the 400m mark, coming out wide to run on, where she powered to the line in the heavy 10 conditions to get up to defeat the Kacy Fogden-trained Fresh Price (Starspangledbanner). Set to stand this season at a fee of $16,500 (inc. GST), the progeny of Divine Prophet appear similar to their sire, who was a better 3YO, and there is the promise of plenty to come for his supporters.
