Malua Racing's Ranting Aimed At Queensland

Trainers Troy and Leon Corstens will take a team of gallopers to Queensland including group winner Ranting (Zoustar-Vanilla Ice Cream, by More Than Ready), reports racing.com. Ranting, who ran third in the Gr2 Tobin Bronze Stakes at his last start, will head to Flemington on Saturday, rather than the Gr1 Goodwood, before having a crack at the Gr1 Stradbroke. "He'll get a bit of weight, but we'll probably claim there and if he runs really well over the 1400m then we'll look to take him up to Queensland," said Troy Corstens. "I still think he's a very good horse and that he's got a Group 1 in him." The Corsten team also have Morrissy (Snitzel-Extension of Time, by Dash for Cash) and The Astrologist (Zoustar-Aquada, by Flying Spur) nominated for the Gr1 Stradbroke. The Astrologist is already in Queensland and may run in the Gr1 Doomben 10,000 on Saturday. "We'll just see what race we run him in next week," Corstens said. "We've got him in a Class 6 as well, he's going to get a bit of weight in that, but I'll have a good chat with Nathan Bennett (managing owner) and then we'll decide which race we run him in." They also will take 3YO filly Succeed Indeed (Akeed Mofeed-Lucky Morna, by Ferocity) north to be aimed at the Gr1 Queensland Oaks.
