  • Further Success For First Crop Sires

    Friday, 7th May 2021

Currently just under $400,000 clear on the first season sire race on prizemoney, Newgate Farm's Gr1 Golden Slipper winner Capitalist (Written Tycoon), sire of this season's Gr1 Champagne Stakes winner Captivant and Inglis Millennium winner Profiteer, recorded his eleventh individual first crop winner when Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Socialist (Capitalist-Baby Corn, by Exceed And Excel) broker her maiden by just over a length on Wednesday at Canterbury. The very next race on the card saw Vinery Stud's fellow first season sire Star Turn (Star Witness) collect his tenth individual winner when Peter and Paul Snowden's Astrologer (Star Turn-Fast 'N" Witty, by Fastnet Rock) took out the 1200m maiden by a half-length margin. Currently first and second in terms of individual winners on the table, Capitalist's Blue Diamond-winning barn mate Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt) – see below – is second on prizemoney, with his four individual winners headlined by this season's Gr1 Golden Slipper winner and future Newgate Farm stallion Stay Inside.
