  • Totally Discreet Could be Crowned Queen

    Wednesday, 28th April 2021

With pedigree on her side, Philip Stokes' 2YO filly Totally Discreet (Territories-Just Discreet, by Exceed And Excel) could pull off a coup on debut if connections decide to accept in Saturday's Listed Queen Adelaide Stakes, aiming to become the first winner for her Darley-based sire (see below), as well as becoming another stakes winner for the 'Discreet' family of famed South Australian breeder David Peacock. A half-sister to Seemingly Discreet (Sepoy), a winner of six races, both out of the Group 3 winner Just Discreet, herself a three-quarter-sister to the multiple Listed-winning, Group 1-placed Very Discreet (Exceed and Excel) and a half-sister to the Gr1 winner Maybe Discreet (Shamardal), it is a family that has worked very well with the various stallions which have stood at Darley Australia over the years. Another in the field who could give the Darley stallions a further boost is the James Cummings-trained Translation (Frosted-Quidnunc, by Lonhro), a narrow second last time out in the Listed Dequetteville Stakes to stablemate Cloudy (Frosted), who has since come out and franked the form, winning the Gr3 Breeders' Stakes last Saturday.
