  • Brooklyn Hustles for An Elusive Group 1

    Tuesday, 20th April 2021

Rosemont Stud principal Anthony Mithen believes group-placed winner Brooklyn Hustle (Starspangledbanner-Joint Aspiration, by Pivotal) can put her bad luck behind her and break through for a Group 1 win when she contests the Gr1 Sangster Stakes in Adelaide on May 1, reports racing.com. "She had a little freshen, came back to Mark Young at our Rosemont pretraining facility, had a little go on the water walker and a day in the paddock. A little day spa as we call it," Mithen said. "She came out of that in great fashion. She's going to have a jump out (this week). We are going to tinker around and put a set of blinkers on her and see if it might get her a little bit closer to the speed." A winner on debut as a 2YO, the now 4YO mare has had eleven starts in group company, while she has won both her non-stakes race starts. This season, Brooklyn Hustle has run fourth in the Gr1 AJ Moir Stakes, Gr1 Manikato Stakes (see below) and Gr1 Oakleigh Plate, while she was seventh in her most recent start in the Gr1 William Reid Stakes.
