  • Prague Knocking on Door for All Aged

    Friday, 16th April 2021

Choicely-pedigreed colt Prague (Redoute’s Choice-Purely Spectacular, by Pins) could get another shot at earning a Group 1 victory before the season is out. According to racingnsw.com.au, the Annabel Neasham-trained 3YO entire will use Saturday’s $1 million Gr2 Arrowfield Sprint (1200m) at Royal Randwick to put his hand up for next weekend’s Gr1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at the same track. A half-brother to Group 1 winner Stratum Star (Stratum) who also placed multiple times at the elite level, Prague is set to reunite with UK hoop Tom Marquand who won aboard him twice from three rides last year. Neasham commented, “I wanted to keep him fresh and freshen him up for this. He drew the car park in the Darby Munro so I didn’t see any need to run, the main aim for him is the Arrowfield then to back up if he runs well into the All Aged.” Winner as a juvenile of Sydney’s Gr2 Pago Pago (1200m) after an early season win in the Canonbury Stakes (1100m), Prague just missed the Gr1 Golden Slipper (1200m) placings before a slashing runner-up in the Gr1 Sires Produce (1400m). Formerly campaigned by Aquis but now raced by Kia Ora, Prague recently finished a close fourth behind Zoutori (Zoustar) in the Gr1 Newmarket Handicap, with that winner franking the form via a fine fourth in last weekend’s Gr1 TJ Smith. “He’s a very high-quality colt and I’m expecting a big showing on Saturday,” declared Neasham.
