  • All Too Hard's Blood Thunder Debuts

    Friday, 9th April 2021

Purchased for $200,000 from the draft of Vinery Stud at the 2019 Magic Millions yearling sale, the Natalie McCall-trained Blood Thunder (All Too Hard-Innisberg, by Lonhro) makes his race day debut on Saturday in the TAB Venue Mode QTIS 2YO Handicap at Doomben. Racing in the silks made famous by Group 1 winner Alligator Blood, the similarities don't end there, both being sons of All Too Hard (Casino Prince-Helsinge, by Desert Sun) purchased from a Vinery Stud draft at a Magic Millions sale. Connections will be hoping that Blood Thunder can kick off his career in similar fashion to Alligator Blood, who made a winning debut for his owners. A half-brother to Group 3 winner Aspect (Pluck) and Listed winner Brown Ben (Big Brown), from the family of stakes winners Sexy Eyes (Written Tycoon) and Tina Melina (Jet Spur), Blood Thunder is one of two first starters in the nine-horse field and from barrier 8 the gelding is likely to settle off the speed, as he did in his recent barrier trial win, before working home. Race favourite Ahooshu (Better Than Ready-Tranquillity Base, by General Nediym) has the form to be very hard to beat, finishing a half-length second behind exciting filly Sweet Dolly (Real Saga), unbeaten in her four starts to date.
