  • First UK 2YO Race For 2021 At Doncaster

    Friday, 26th March 2021

With eighteen runners nominated for the first 2YO race of the year, the 2021 British flat season looks to be starting with plenty of interest, reports racingpost.com. The Brocklesby is notable for runners by freshman sires that include Group 1 winners Aclaim (Acclamation-Aris, by Danroad), Galileo Gold (Paco Boy-Galicuix, by Galileo) and The Grey Gatsby (Mastercraftsman-Marie Vision, by Entrepreneur), Group 2 winner Ardad (Kodiac-Good Clodora, by Red Clubs) and Group 3 winner Cotai Glory (Exceed and Excel-Continua, by Elusive Quality). Aclaim has two entries, Banana (Aclaim-Bazzana, by Zebedee) and Claim to Fame (Aclaim-Rohlindi, by Red Ransom), as does Gr1 2000 Guineas winner Galileo Gold, who has Denim Shorts (Galileo Gold-Wee Jean, by Captain Gerrard) and Mahak (Galileo Gold-Bronze Baby, by Silver Charm). On the Doncaster card, Charlie Appleby may unleash Khaiz, the 3YO full-brother to Darley's newly announced shuttler, European champion Ghaiyyath (Dubawi-Nightime, by Galileo), although the 700,000 guineas foal purchase also holds an entry for Kempton on the same day.
