  • Rising Romance Daughter Yearning For Success

    Wednesday, 17th March 2021

Blue-blooded Arrowfield Stud-raced filly Yearning (Snitzel-Rising Romance, by Ekraar) did her full-brother, who will be offered as Lot 45 at this year's Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, no harm by stepping out on Monday morning in just her second barrier trial and producing the goods to win over 900m with something in hand. Entered for the 2020 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale but withdrawn due to the COVID situation which saw Arrowfield Stud offer their draft privately, the Hawkes Racing-trained filly jumped away well before travelling forward to take the lead with fellow Arrowfield Stud silks colour bearer Chimes (Snitzel-Time Check, by Shamardal) sitting just off her. With the pair keeping the same position throughout, it was the Tommy Berry-ridden Yearning who took the heat by just 0.2-lengths from the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Chimes, who had to be pushed out to stay with the trial winner. The first named foal of the Gr1 Australian Oaks winner Rising Romance, a winner of five races with a further seven Gr1 placed efforts to her name, the highly talented mare has only ever been covered by the four-time Champion Sire Snitzel (Redoute's Choice) in her four seasons at stud.
